I've decided to stay at home for the next few days, to bake and sew and generally calm down, things are very hectic at the moment so I most definately need some 'me' time. Plus I have to bake and take pictures for my Blue Rain Edibles Etsy store. The launch is on the 30th March, 6 days to go! Im so excited! I hope people buy stuff!
I was browsing blogs for something to make and came across a fabric flower in this lovely tutorial from Molly Chicken's blog right here, go check it out, shes such a funny woman, I've giggled many a time from reading her blog. Needless to say my flower turned out pretty bad and I won't be posting a picture of it for fear of everyone laughing in unison.
Today my gorgeous girls and boys in blogland, we will be making a chocolate sheet cake :D
Oh man, just looking at that picture makes me want to go grab a million slices out of the fridge and gobble them all up! Lol
For this delicious treat you will need:
226g Butter
12tbsp water 3 tbsp cocoa
453g flour
453g sugar
1tsp bicarbonate of soda (baking soda)
pinch of salt
2 eggs
for the topping you will need:
127g chocolate
75g butter
Preheat the oven to gas mark 6/200C/400F, grease and line a shallow baking tin.
Heat the butter sugar and cocoa in a saucepan. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, bicarbonate of soda (baking soda) and salt, then mix in the hot mixture from the saucepan. Add the eggs and fold into the mixture, pour into the baking tray and bake for 20 minutes.
Meanwhile melt the butter and chocolate in a glass bowl over a pan of simmering water.
Remove cake from the oven and spread the topping over the cake once cooled slightly, add chocolate chips/sprinkles if desired and serve with a scoop of ice cream, yum yum!
Enjoy!
What recipe would people like to see next? I want to try something different so just give me a note and I'll not only do the recipe but if you're within the area, I'll send you what I bake aswell, just as a little treat as I'm feeling pretty giving today :D
Au revoir
xx
